Terms of service

Renovation Planner is provided by Furzedown Builders Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13936552), registered office 267 Southcroft Road, London SW16 6QT (VAT number GB 474 8872 34). In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean Furzedown Builders Ltd, and “you” means the person using the service.

These terms apply when you create an account or subscribe. Please read them with our privacy policy. You must be 18 or over to use the service.

Renovation Planner helps you plan a renovation: set a budget, track estimated and actual costs, and compare quotes from builders or contractors.

Estimates are a guide only. The Quick estimate and the typical cost ranges shown for budget lines are national averages taken from published cost guides. They are not quotes, and real costs vary by location, specification, the property and the builder. Always get written quotes before making decisions, and take professional advice (for example from an architect, surveyor or structural engineer) where appropriate.

Figures are fixed when you create a project. Each project keeps the estimate rates and typical cost ranges that applied on the day it was created. We review our figures from time to time, but changes only apply to projects created afterwards – your existing projects are not updated.

You sign in with a link sent to your email address. Keep access to your email account secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

• New customers get a 7-day free trial, once per person. You won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
• After the trial your subscription starts automatically on the plan you chose (monthly or annual) and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
• Prices are shown before you subscribe and include VAT or other sales tax where it applies. Payment is taken by card through our payment provider, Stripe, at the start of each period. We never see or store your full card details.
• If we change our prices we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the change affects you, so you can cancel first if you wish.

You can cancel at any time in Account → Manage billing. Your subscription then stops renewing and you keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for (or the end of your free trial).

14-day refund: if you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, contact us at info@furzedownbuilders.com and we will refund that payment in full. Otherwise we don't give refunds for part-used periods. This doesn't affect your legal rights as a consumer.

After your subscription ends you can still sign in and view your projects, but you can't create or edit them until you subscribe again.

The projects, budgets and quotes you enter belong to you. You allow us to store and process them only so we can provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy. Please don't enter anything unlawful or anyone else's private information that you don't have the right to share.

Don't misuse the service – for example by trying to access other people's accounts, interfering with how it works, or copying our cost figures for resale. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why.

We aim to keep the service available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve or change features. If we ever close the service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, refund any unused part of your subscription, and give you a way to keep a copy of your projects.

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Because estimates are general guidance, we are not responsible for decisions you make or costs you incur based on them, or for the work, prices or conduct of any builder or contractor.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

We may update these terms, for example when the law or our service changes. If a change is significant we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when they last changed.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings there. If you live outside the UK, you keep any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in. If you have a problem, please contact us first – we'll do our best to put it right.
